Crops for Campers

Crops for Campers is an initiative of Ingham Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camps to help farmers maximize gifts of crops to help campers attend Bible Camp and cultivate growth for this ministry, all so that youth and family campers may know Jesus Christ and make Christ known all.

The Exponential Impact of a Donation of Grain

Below is an illustration of how $5,000 of grain may result in a greater gift to the Camps when donated as grain rather than selling the grain and paying applicable taxes first. We strongly recommend consulting your tax advisor concerning your specific tax matters.

Step One

Contact the elevator of your choice to state that you would like to donate a specific number of bushels to Ingham Okoboji.

Step Two

Request that the donated bushels be placed in the name of Ingham Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camps, and provide our business address:
1203 Inwan Street
Milford, IA 51351

Step Three

In most elevators, you may make arrangements before or after you haul the grain to the elevator, as long as you have not yet sold the grain you intend to donate. The camp will typically sell the grain soon after delivery to the elevator and a conversation with the elevator.

Easy as 1,2,3

Step-by-step, seed by seed. Know that your gift will help campers attend Bible Camp and provide a great experience of fun, Christian love, Bible study, new friends and growing in a life-giving faith relationship with Jesus Christ.

Working with Elevators

We may need to establish an account with the elevator in order to sell the grain, but this can be a very simple process. We would enjoy hearing about your intention to donate grain.

If you or an elevator manager has questions, please contact Rodney Quanbeck, Executive Director at Ingham Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camps at 712.337.3306.

Happy Farmers. Happy Campers.

“Donating grain was surprisingly simple, and I love knowing I can give to a ministry I care about while also doing the work I love. It’s a win-win!”
